GOSHEN – The “Volks” are gathering again in downtown Goshen, as September First Fridays marks the long-awaited return of VolksFest!
Volks of all ages are invited to enjoy a showcase of Michiana-owned Volkswagen Buses and Beetles on Washington Street, along with amazing Downtown Goshen offerings on Friday, September 3. All of the usual First Fridays fun will be on tap from 5 to 9 p.m. – food trucks, a beer tent, live music, in-store promotions, and free children’s activities.
Online registration for owners of any VW vehicle interested in being a part of the Volkswagen Showcase is open now through Thursday, September 2 at downtowngoshen.org. Groovy VolksFest T-shirts are available for purchase through the website, as well.
“We love the generous spirit of VW owners. They seem to thoroughly enjoy sharing their vehicles with the community, and the Volkswagen Showcase wouldn’t be possible without them,” Adrienne Nesbitt, Event Director, said. “We are excited to welcome them back!”
The First Fridays Outdoor Music Series also continues during VolksFest with a performance by Latin-soul fusion band and local favorite Lalo Cura beginning at 7 p.m. The sister duo Broken Wanderer kicks off the evening at 5:30 p.m. The free concert will be held on the First Fridays stage at the intersection of Main Street and East Washington Street.
